Get Ready For Promotion
Psalms 3: 3 But you, O LORD [Yahweh], [are] a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head. [GBMV]
In this world, you are continually in competition with people who are all seeking to lift themselves up. And the most common experience is that people will try to pull you down so that they can be noticed.
If you are a believer then this becomes even worse, because the enemy does not want you to rise up and promote the Lord and His Kingdom. So Satan will find people in this world to oppose you and put you down.
And if you are not one of the “beautiful people” the chances are that you will get pushed down and remain in obscurity. Sometimes we accept this as our lot in life and are taught that we should just submit in humility and not try to exalt ourselves.
Often your deep need to be accepted by others, and to have them recognize the good things you have and do is just never met. The only One who accepts and recognizes you is the Lord.
This is wonderful, but He does not intend you to go through life in obscurity, always pushed to the background and not finding your place. He wants you to be lifted up and made visible for a very important reason.
Jesus said that if He is lifted up He will draw all people to Himself. And although this referred originally to His death on the cross, it also has another application.
You see Jesus can only be visible now in this world through you because He is living inside of you. So that means if you are hidden away and nobody can see you, then they cannot see Him either.
That is why, the Lord will never cause you to be hidden or ask you to withdraw and not be visible. He not only wants you to be lifted up to a place of visibility, but He wants you to receive praise, admiration, and respect.
This is what the word glory means, and David said that the Lord was his glory and the one that lifted him and made him visible.
Imagine this little shepherd boy, sent to go look after the stinky sheep all alone, where nobody else will notice him. They did not even call him to the meeting when Samuel came to ask for Jesse to show his sons.
But God had other plans because David was His man. David knew the Lord and praised him with his harp and tapped into the power of God all alone there with the sheep.
But when David came on the scene he got crowned to be the next king, and his brothers who all looked for fame and recognition lost out.
Do you feel sometimes like little David? Pushed aside by others and not considered important enough to be in the limelight? Well, there is hope for you so do not lose heart.
The Lord wants to bring you out into the open and cause you to bathe in the limelight. He wants you to become noticed, admired, and respected. So do not be afraid to stand up for him and claim your inheritance.
Stop hiding away wallowing in obscurity and show your face and His glory. He will promote you and make you visible so that others can see His glory shining out of you.
Be the light that is set up high to light the room and do it without fear of condemnation. Because He wants you to be up there and He will back you all the way as you step out in boldness and confidence in Him.
