No More Guilt
Romans 4: 7 Blessed [are] those whose violations of the law are forgiven, and whose sins are covered over.
8 Blessed [is] the man whose sin the Lord will [double negative] never take into account. [GBMV]
One of the biggest weapons that the enemy uses against believers is the power of guilt and condemnation. He uses this to stop us from trusting in the Lord and having an expectation of blessing coming our way.
Have you ever woken up in the morning and felt like the Lord is a million miles away? And you wonder if you did something wrong that He is ignoring you. Things go wrong in your life and you wonder if this is the result of you failing somewhere. So you start looking inwards to see where you may have sinned or missed it.
You feel you need to repent of something, but you are not sure what it is that you did wrong. And you feel all alone and forsaken.
Well, you are not alone in this. Every single one of us faces this kind of attack in this world. And a lot of the time we struggle because we do not know the truth. Yet the truth has the power to make you free.
What is the truth? The truth is that Jesus paid the price for all of your sins. Both your sins of the past, the sins you committed today, and the sins that you will commit tomorrow. And because of Calvary and because you are His child, He will never again hold you guilty for your sins.
The moment you sin, He appears in the courts of heaven as your attorney to defend you. And before the Mighty Judge of all, He presents the evidence that you cannot be judged. That evidence is in his nail-scarred hands and feet and His pierced side. He paid the full price and you will never be held guilty because of that.
The Scripture passage above puts it so nicely. The blessing of the Lord that is for all believers, is that your sins have been forgiven and covered over. And the Lord will never take them into account, either in His dealings with you in this life, or in your future destiny.
So lift your head up now and rejoice and command this cloud of gloom that has settled over you to leave. Go out in confidence knowing that the Lord is with you to bless everything that you do. And whatever you touch will prosper.
