Keep Running

You have lost sight of your goal and have been wondering if you did the right thing, or are still in the race, says the Lord.

As a runner who runs a marathon, you started out great, running in the crowd with the excitement and prospect of reaching the destination set. And like a runner, you have seen some runners speed off ahead of you, while others fell behind and gave up the race.

Now the crowd has disappeared, and you face a long uphill journey all alone. And you are wondering what you are doing here, or why you even started this race in the first place.

There seems to be little point in pressing on, and you have lost all the excitement of the race. Your mind has become filled with thoughts of giving up or turning back.

But do not be discouraged, says the Lord, for just ahead lies a checkpoint where you will meet others who have gone on before, and some who are waiting for you to arrive.

Do not believe the lies of the enemy who is trying to stop you from reaching your destination. If you allow those thoughts he places in your mind to divert you or prevent you from running, you will regret it later.

If you stop the race now, you will need to start all over again, and you will lose the joy of completing the race and receiving the prize that awaits you. So let me run beside you, says the Lord, so that you no longer feel all alone.

For I have been there all along, and I have never forsaken you. I understand what you are experiencing because I have walked this road myself and I know what you are facing.

Know that I do not condemn you for feeling this way, but I will empower you to keep going and to instead accelerate your running. And soon, the excitement will return, and you will once again feel the thrill of fulfilling the call that I have placed upon you, says the Lord.
