Way of Blessing Part 3 - Living Your Blessing Chapter 8 of 22

From Plans to Action

I want to start by sharing two Scriptures with you. The first one is from James 2:26. It says,

For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without [corresponding] action is dead also.

The second one is from Colossians 3:17 and it says,

And whatever you are producing through both the things that you speak and the things that you carry out, everything should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, while continually giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Last time we looked at building plans for health and wealth, and planning to move into these things that God has for us. Well, did you make some plans?

I'm not going to ask you if you did it or not. And if you did make some plans, have you started to put them into practice yet? This is where the excuses begin don't they?

Release Plans Through Words and Action

You see you have tapped the spiritual forces of faith, love and hope that are within your spirit. You have also prepared your mind to release them by setting up some good plans of action.

Those plans must now be released into this world. And they can only be released in two ways, which you should know by now. They can only be released through words and action.

These are two areas where all of us fail most of the time. Some of us are all talk and no action. We have plenty of great, swelling words and are always saying what we will do. But we never get around to doing it do we?

Then we get those who believe that action must be done now! Those people say,

"I'm not going to wait."

Then they go off prematurely, without even first discussing what needs to be done. They get all excited and stirred up.

They get all motivated, make a choice and say,

"Let's go and do it."

But they didn't talk about it first. They didn't use words first. They didn't build or prepare for the action that is to follow.

So, in this section I want to look at the importance of words and action in releasing the spiritual forces that are within. I want to show how to bring those plans that we have made into fruition and make them a reality in our lives.

The Importance of Words

Words are very important, because they build a template in the soul.

We saw previously, as is taught in the first volumes of The New Way of Blessing, that these spiritual forces need to be released via the soul. But the problem with the soul is that it very often puts up a resistance, and it is difficult to let these forces out.

We taught about building a template or pattern in the soul. So that when these spiritual forces arise, they have a channel by which they can be released and can make things happen.

Why are words so important in building a template in the soul? Because the most important thing in your soul is what you see.

If you can't see yourself doing the things that you plan, you will never get around to doing them. If they don't become so real to you that you are almost living them in your mind already, they will never actually take place.

Words have a very powerful ability to create pictures in our minds. Words can affect our minds and can affect our feelings and emotions. Just look at somebody who never talks. You seldom describe that person as a ball of fire, do you?

They just don't show anything. They don't show any emotion or any action. They just sit there, probably thinking great thoughts, but those thoughts are not getting any further than their heads.

Why You Need to Speak

Words are a powerful force, because words allow what is inside a person to come out. When someone opens their mouth to speak, you know what is going on inside of them.

Some people are afraid to speak, because they think of this old saying.

It is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

We are afraid to open our mouths in case we show what is inside. But you see, until you open your mouth and begin to speak words, what is inside cannot be released. It will remain there.

So, if you are a person who does not like to talk much, then you better start learning to talk.

You might say to me,

"What do I talk about?"

Talk about your plans and your goals. Talk about your dreams; about what you would like to accomplish for the Lord and what you would like God to do in your life.

Talk about them, and while you are doing that you will start to see them. You will start to visualize the possibilities that can exist.

You see words allow us to tap into our spirits, because words come from our spirits. Animals cannot speak words because they don't have a spirit.

Your spirit gives you the ability to speak words. And the words that you speak are containers of the power that is in your spirit.

Clear Your Spirit First

If you want to let that power out, words are the best way to do it. Sometimes what you let out is not very positive or powerful. Sometimes you need to let the water run a little bit until it clears.

We have a borehole in our garden that we use to fill up our pool. But every time we try and fill the pool with it, horrible green water gushes out and the pool stays green for days.

Because of that we have learned to let it run for a while.

Sometimes we must do this for a long time before the water eventually starts to clear.

So, don't be afraid that when you open your mouth junk will come out. You will likely be speaking junk for the first while.

It is the same with prophecy. The first time you open your mouth to speak a prophetic word, you stumble and mumble and don't know what you are talking about.

The exact same thing happens when you journal, because journaling is writing down words that come out of your spirit.

So, if you want to practice this process of letting words out, start with journaling because you are not talking to anybody.

There is nobody out there who can say you are talking rubbish. It's just you, the Lord and your journal. Write it down and practice the flow. Get all the dirty junk out first, and eventually the clear flow will start to come.

I have seen so many people who are afraid to journal, because the first journals they tried were full of junk. Sometimes people bring me their journal and say,

"What do you think of my journal?"

I say, "That came from your mind didn't it? That didn't come from the Lord."

But you see you must start there. You begin by clearing your mind and you start the flow. As you continue to flow and speak those words, it will begin to clear. Then after a while, the anointing of God will begin to come up out of your spirit.

Words Stir Your Emotions

The other thing that speaking words does, is it stirs your emotions. Very often when we come to have a time of worship in the ministry, we come with many loads and cares.

When I taught this lesson, I woke up in the morning and felt like going back to bed. The last thing I felt like doing was singing and being happy.

Have you ever felt that way when you go to a meeting?

Perhaps you think,

"Just get the song service over with please!"

But if you force yourself to sing those words, after a while something starts to happen inside. It starts to churn and to bubble. Your emotions begin to get stirred, and by the time you are finished you are feeling a lot better than you were when you started.

Those of you who preach, sometimes when you stand up to preach you may feel the same way. You might think,

"I don't feel like preaching today."

Well you need to preach yourself happy until the flow comes, because it will come. But if you don't speak the words, it is not going to happen.

Words Produce Hope

Speaking words then stirs the emotions, and it also produces hope in your heart. Because with the emotions and the pictures that come into your mind, as you start seeing the things that you desire and you say,

"Maybe it is possible that I could lose this belly fat. Maybe it is possible for me to get some friends."

"Maybe it is possible that we could get more finances in. And maybe it is possible that I can afford to buy that thing that I have really desired."

As you speak, your emotions flow and the pictures come. And after a while it starts to become a possibility. Hope is one of the three forces, but we tend to always ignore that one. We say,

"I need to have strong faith, and yes I have the love of the Lord."

But without hope you have no direction for that power whatsoever. Because you see hope is like the sights on the gun.

Faith is like the bullet that has the power, and love is the trigger that pulls it. But if you don't have somewhere to aim that bullet, you will hit the moon. You are not going to hit anything, and it will accomplish nothing.

So, hope is a very important force. And speaking those words repeatedly can help create the hope.

Your Starting Point

You might say to me,

"Where do I start and what do I speak?"

Well here is one of the first things you can speak. Assuming you did make some plans and you did write them down, when you did that words were involved because you wrote those words down.

Perhaps at the time you wrote them, you were journaling. You had a flow in the Spirit, you felt inspired and you thought,

"This is great! I can do this."

But a week from now you can't even remember what you wrote down. So, what are the chances that you will put those plans into action?

You might say, "What was my plan again? I know it sounded a pretty good idea when I wrote it down, but what was it again?"

Review Your Plans Again

There is only one way that you will remember it and that is to pull it out and read it again.

One of the most powerful things that you can do is to take what you have written and read it out loud. Somehow it adds an extra power when you take what you wrote down.

You might say, "I am going to stop eating this. I'm going to have smaller meals and I'm going to do that."

When you start speaking it out, you find that it becomes more real to you. Then you begin to remember it and it builds pictures in your mind. The next time you sit down to eat you think,

"Oh yes, this is what I said. I said I'm not going to eat that anymore. I'm going to eat smaller portions and I'm not going to eat between meals."

Speak out whatever you decide will help you in your health. Perhaps you say,

"I am going to exercise and go for a walk every day. But I don't feel like doing it this morning."

But that voice that you have been speaking comes up into your mind and says,

"I am going to go for a walk every morning."

When you are lying there in bed tossing and turning, that voice will start to come up inside of you and say,

"I am going to go for a walk every morning."

You will say, "Shut up!"

But it won't shut up, because you have been speaking it continually. When you speak it, it goes deep inside of you. It ferments inside of you, and eventually it starts to come out of you.

You see it is not enough to plan. You need to also start bringing those plans to life. And the best way you can do that is with words.
