Faith Is Not Difficult

Faith Is Not Difficult

If you are a believer then you know that faith is a very important thing in our daily lives.

Most people can quote the definition of faith from Hebrews 11 – without faith it is impossible to please Him.

And even though there is an entire movement based on faith, and so much teaching available on the subject, most of us still find it hard to have faith.

But Faith Was Never Meant To Be Difficult

If it was, then few believers would ever be able to use it and it would be unfair of the Lord to expect us to have it.

You see, faith is not an option for believers. It is not something that we should have, but can go without.

In fact, if you are a Christian you have an obligation to have faith, because the Lord has commanded you to believe and have faith.

Jesus Expected It

Do you remember the story where Jesus was lying asleep in the boat during the storm? The disciples were all afraid and they came to wake Him up, crying, “Lord we are going to die”. But what does the Scripture say?

Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said to them, Why are you so fearful? how is it that you have no faith? (GBMV)

After getting up and telling the storm to quieten down, Jesus turned to His disciples and rebuked them for not having faith.

If having faith or getting faith was a difficult thing, then surely He had no right to rebuke them for not having it right?

You Have More Faith Than You Realise

You may think that you have no faith, but actually you have a lot more faith than you realize.

But you are making it something so supernatural and unreachable that you are not using the power you already have.

According to Jesus it only takes faith the size of a mustard seed to move mountains. So you really do not need a lot of it to get results.

So how can you use the faith you already have? You can use it by making a simple choice.

Instead of waiting for some supernatural experience, or a feeling to come over you, it is possible for you to put into practice the faith you already have.

Dealing With Fear Using Faith

The one time you really need to have faith, is when fear fills your heart. But often this is when you feel you have no faith at all.

Suppose you suddenly feel a pain in your body and you do not know where it is coming from. If you have read some of the medical advice that is all over the place, you will probably wonder if you have something serious.

The thought will come to your mind, “Am I having a heart attack?” “Do I have cancer?” “Is something seriously wrong with me?”

You are presented with an unexpected financial need, and the first thing that comes to your mind is, “I don’t have the money, so I am headed for trouble. What am I going to do?”

This is what happened to the disciples when the storm suddenly came up and their ship looked like it might sink. Their first thought was, “We’re gonna die.”

It Is Hard To Fight Negative Thoughts

Now you are probably thinking, “If I could just get faith, I would be able to overcome those negative thoughts.” So you cry out to the Lord to give you enough faith to overcome the fearful thoughts in your mind.

This is probably the mistake most of us make. We think that faith is a feeling. And if we can just get some of that positive feeling, then we have faith.

But the truth of the matter is that faith is NOT a feeling. Faith is a CHOICE.

You can choose to accept those negative thoughts, or you can choose to reject them. And if you choose to reject them, you must do more than just try to fight those thoughts in your mind.

You must do what Jesus did. You must use two powerful tools that the Lord has given you. These tools are Words and Actions.

The Power of Words

Do you realise that when you are speaking words, the thoughts of your mind come under your control?

While you remain passive, trying to fight those negative thoughts, they only seem to get stronger. You might try to put different pictures in your mind, but the pictures that are coming from your fear are far stronger and usually win the fight.

But the moment you open your mouth to speak, something amazing happens. Your mind is forced to think what you are speaking. If you say “Blue” it is almost impossible for you think “Red.”

If you say, “I am strong and well” it is difficult for you to think, “I am weak and sick.”

Faith is always based on words. That is why the Scripture says that faith comes by the hearing of words being spoken.

Romans 10:17 So then faith [comes] by hearing, and hearing by the [rhema] word of God. (GBMV)

Fear comes the same way, and while you are listening to those negative words, and the pictures they create, you will be filled with fear.

You have to change it by speaking more positive words. And when you do, the pictures will change. And the new pictures will start to build better feelings in your emotions.

Reinforcing Words With Action

Once you start to speak positive words to counteract the negative feelings of fear, the next important step is to reinforce those words and positive feelings with action.

Jesus combined both words and actions when the disciples woke Him. He stood up and rebuked the storm and commanded it to quiet down. Then He probably went back to sleep.

And you can do something similar when you are faced with fear.

Instead of quivering and expecting the worst, you can take action. Speak something positive. And put your faith into action.

James tells us that faith without corresponding action remains dead. It is not that the faith is not there, it is just lying dormant.

You must activate it with the things you say and the things you do.

Fear Paralyzes Faith Activates

Fear will put you into a state of paralysis. You will sit waiting for the worst to happen. You will freeze up instead of springing into action.

But you can take out the little bit of faith you have, and use it like a weapon. And the best way to do this is to take something that God has said, instead of what your mind is telling you.

The chances are the thoughts in your mind are coming from the enemy, who is trying to bring you into a state of fear.

Reject his words, and remind yourself of the words that God has spoken.

Now if God has spoken to you specifically then start with that. But you can also take any passage of Scripture and use that.

Open your mouth and speak what God is saying or has said. And just speaking those words will immediately begin to counteract the fearful thoughts in your mind.

Act Like You Believe It

Now that the pictures in your mind are starting to change, and your feelings are improving, take the next step and act like you believe these new words.

If God says you are healed, then stop acting like you are sick. If God says He has provided your needs, then stop acting like things are going to go wrong.

It might help to even talk to those thoughts in your mind that are coming from the enemy. Tell him to leave and tell him he is a liar.

Instead of speaking out the thoughts in your mind, “I feel terrible, I think something is wrong with me”, speak the positive words, “I have been healed by the stripes of Jesus. God provides my needs. With God all things are possible to him who believes.”

“Satan you are liar, I am not sick, I am not going to get into trouble, I am not going to suffer bad things.”

Repeat The Words And Action

You might not get an immediate result. So don’t just speak once and then stop. Keep speaking the positive. Keeping releasing the little bit of faith that you have.

And before you know it, the pictures in your mind will begin to change. The fear will begin to subside, and a strange thing will happen.

The reason faith is like a mustard seed, is that if you plant it, then it will begin to grow.

The more you keep speaking and acting like this, the more your faith will grow. Until you come to the place where your faith is far greater than any fear the enemy can throw at you.

Start Doing It Today

Don’t wait until you are in a desperate situation before you try this. Start practicing it now daily.

Take that tiny grain of faith that you have and start using it. Keep planting it with the words you speak and the things you do.

And before you know it, you will have faith to move mountains. When the weather is bad you will be able to speak to it and it will change. When you are feeling bad you will be able to speak to your body and it will improve.

Then you will also be able to take this newly grown faith and use it to bring change to the lives of others. Your prayers will become more powerful, and you will become a spiritual giant.

So you see, faith is NOT difficult. You can do this. Start doing it right away.

  1. Amazing! What a way to wake up this morning. This is a powerful teaching on Faith and I’m so encouraged and empowered Apostle Crause. The Lord has recently shown me in a dream my husband and I in an elevator being elevated then when it reached the top breaking off flying through the sky and taking us to another place. So reading this has truly helped me to believe what I cannot see right now. I’m so grateful to the Lord having received this!!!!
Grace and Peace to you and yours.

    1. Thanks Teya, the Lord has indeed got great things in store for both you and your husband. I believe your dream is very significant and shows that the Lord is going to break you out of the limitations that you have had in the realm of ministry. It can be frightening when the Lord takes you out of your comfort zone and what you have been used to doing and launches you into something new and different. Clearly the Lord has called you as an apostolic couple to break out of the status quo system and move into something far greater. We are here for you if you need us to help guide you through this. Blessings Les D. Crause

  2. Thank you brother, this word is an eye opener to something that too many of us believe is difficult to have, when it should be as simple as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is.

  3. Great teaching! Now one can understand some scriptures like Let the weak say I am strong. Let the poor say I am rich. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, etc. I have always received dreams and revelations of impending calmities of National dimension, and I wondered why the Lord always give this visions and what to do about it. I always resort to intercessions and to my surprise God honors it. Faith as mustard seed indeed. Your teaching is an encuragement to do more. God bless you and the entire GBMI team in Jesus Name.

    1. Thanks Godfrey, usually when the Lord reveals something negative He intends for us to pray against it. This is one of the roles of the prophet

  4. Great! This is powerful but simplifield teaching. I am greatly blessed more of insight into God’s word.

  5. Great! This is a powerful but simplifield teaching. I am greatly blessed. More insight into God’s word. You are truely a gift to our generation. Thanks sir.

    1. Thanks Thomas. The principles of the Word are usually simple. We just try to overcomplicate them with our intellect instead of just letting the Word speak for itself

  6. Now I understand better that I have faith,it’s not about the quantity, for a bit of it is a quality that brings every forces into reality. Abi? Now ,I understand some of the reasons I’m like this in certain areas of my life. This meets me well. Thanks Man of Good sir.
